Standing Committee for Young DPG Members
The organization of the young generation in the youngDPG
The members of the committee are the spokespersons of the youngDPG and the 2nd chairperson as well as several DPG members representing various professional fields.
The committee organizes the young scientists' work on its own responsibility.
The DPG Young Scientists' Representatives are to establish contact between young scientists and the other DPG members and the DPG Executive Board and promote an exchange. Further tasks are, for example, the planning and organization of excursions in cooperation with the respective 2nd DPG chairperson, the recruitment of new members, the introduction of wishes and ideas of young scientists into the work of the association and the planning of events. The 1st spokesperson of the young DPG and his/her deputy are invited to every DPG board meeting as a voting member.
Once a year, at the plant protection conference or during the excursion, the deputy spokesperson is newly elected. The previous deputy automatically moves up to the then retiring 1st spokesperson. This ensures a certain continuity and makes it easier to familiarize oneself with the new tasks.
